They launched in late 2006, and since then have built a large and loyal player base through offering great software, running unique promotions, and providing customers with excellent support. PKR Poker Software

The main reason players sign up at PKR.com is because of the unique 3D software. PKR's graphics and game play are the industry standard when it comes to online poker, and for good reason. When you sit at a PKR table you actually get the feeling of sitting at a real casino (if you decide to use the casino background, of course). Also, the avatars at the table can actually move and act how the player would like - for example, if you lose a big hand, you can make your player cry at the table. Here is a shot of in-game action:

At the tables you can choose from multiple modes, including fixed camera points that are at four different locations of the table, an overhead view, or my personal favorite - the "dynamic" mode. In dynamic mode the camera follows action around the table, so it has the same feel as watching poker on ESPN.

There are multiple different playing environments, including a bar, a resort, a casino, and many more. Also, you can customize your character as much as you want by changing his/her face, body, skin, clothes, and accessories. Once you start building up PKR Points (PKR's version of a frequent player point) you can add further customization to your virtual player, including secret chip tricks and special accessories. PKR even awards a virtual bracelet to winners of big PKR.com tournaments that can be sported at the tables.

PKR.com Poker Games and Traffic

Although player traffic isn't PKR's strong point, they still have plenty of players to have tons of games running 24/7 at a variety of stakes. At the time of this writing there are over 1,100 real money players online at PKR.com. For comparison purposes, PokerStars has 28,000 total real money players online right now. PKR has roughly 4% of the traffic that PokerStars does, which really isn't a bad number. If PKR ever opens up to the USA market you can expect these numbers to skyrocket, but for now players will have to make do.

PKR's poker games include Texas Hold'em (in No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit Stakes), Omaha High (in Pot Limit and Fixed Limit), and Omaha Hi-Lo (in Pot Limit and Fixed Limit). Although they offer all of those games, No Limit Hold'em is clearly their centerpiece, and most players online are playing that game. PKR offers stakes up to $100/$200, but games at that limit are rarely running.
